Moving out cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, checkout cleaning: different names for the same job. This is the one letting agents mark against.

In Salford
Quick answer for Salford: In Salford, M3 to M7 immediately west of the River Irwell, end of tenancy work runs from waterside apartments at Salford Quays and MediaCityUK to Victorian terraces in Weaste, Seedley and Langworthy, and the large period houses of Broughton and Kersal. The Metrolink Eccles line, Salford Central and Salford Crescent put the whole area minutes from Manchester. A managed apartment gets a clipboard checkout from the block; a Kersal house with a garden on the inventory takes a deeper, slower clean.
Prices in Salford: studio £155, 1-bed £189, 2-bed £229, 3-bed £269, 4-bed £309, 5+ bedrooms from £359, the same fixed ladder everywhere we clean. We cover all of Salford including Salford Quays, Ordsall, Pendleton, Weaste.
Property types we clean in Salford.
Salford rental stock splits into three worlds, and the clean changes with each one.
The first is the water. Salford Quays and MediaCityUK are apartment country: blocks of one and two bed flats with integrated kitchens, engineered wood or vinyl plank floors, floor to ceiling glazing and balconies. Many are let and managed by property companies rather than high street agents, and the inventory is photographic and detailed. The same goes for the newer towers along Chapel Street, Greengate and Trinity Way at the city end, where a flat can be four years old and still get marked against a full move-in photo set.
The second is the old industrial terraces. Weaste, Seedley and Langworthy carry rows of red-brick two up two downs and bay-fronted terraces from Salford's mill and dock years: tiled hallways, back yards rather than gardens, and rear extensions holding the kitchen or the shower room. Langworthy also holds Chimney Pot Park, where Urban Splash rebuilt streets of 1910 terraces behind their retained brick fronts and turned them upside down, bedrooms on the ground floor and living space up in the roof with a raised deck outside. They read as terraces from the pavement and clean like something else entirely once you are through the door.
The third is the period housing to the north. Broughton and Kersal hold larger Victorian and Edwardian semis and villas on wide roads, a good share of them split into flats, with sash windows, deep skirtings, cornicing and original tiled paths. Pendleton and Charlestown mix refurbished tower flats with newer low rise, and Ordsall runs from post-war estate housing to brand new build inside a few streets.
So a Salford job might be a high floor flat at the Quays one day and a Kersal villa split into three the next. We quote by floor area and condition, not by guesswork.
- Quays and MediaCityUK flats: integrated appliance filters and seals, balcony glazing, floor to ceiling window tracks
- Weaste and Seedley terraces: tiled hallways, back yard swept, rear extension shower silicone treated
- Broughton and Kersal period houses: sash window tracks, deep skirtings and cornicing dusted by hand
Common deposit issues in Salford rentals.
Salford checkouts vary as much as the housing does. A managed apartment at the Quays gets a property manager with a photographic inventory and a relet target measured in days. A terrace off Langworthy Road is more likely to get the landlord or a high street agent walking round with the check-in report. A Kersal house split into flats can get either.
The deductions we see flagged most often follow the stock. In the flats it is the oven and the hob, the extractor filter, the fridge seal, the shower screen and the runners on the sliding balcony door. Limescale still builds up around taps and screens over a long tenancy, and a clerk will run a finger round the base of a tap before anything else.
In the terraces it is grease behind and under the cooker, the kitchen extractor hood, mould in the silicone bead of a rear extension shower, the window tracks, and the strip of skirting behind the radiator in the back bedroom. Yards, bin stores and shared entries get checked too. We sweep and wipe down a yard, but we don't haul away belongings or rubbish.
In the Broughton and Kersal period houses the originals get compared against the move-in photos. Sash tracks are brushed rather than stressed, cast iron radiators are dusted along the fins rather than scrubbed, and tiled or wooden floors get a damp microfibre, not a steam mop. Where a big house has been divided, the shared hall and stairs usually sit outside your tenancy, so check your agreement before you pay anyone to clean them.
- Managed blocks: photographic inventory, appliance seals and filters, balcony door runners
- Terraces: cooker grease, extractor hood, shower silicone, yard swept and wiped down
- Period conversions: sash tracks and cornicing by hand, shared hall usually outside your tenancy
Getting to your Salford property.
Salford is one of the easiest parts of Greater Manchester for us to reach, because almost everything runs through it. The Metrolink Eccles line threads the whole waterside, with stops at Exchange Quay, Salford Quays, Anchorage, Harbour City and Broadway, plus the short MediaCityUK spur, then carries on through Langworthy toward Eccles. Those stops opened with the line in December 1999.
On heavy rail, Salford Central sits at the Chapel Street end and has been through an upgrade that raised the platforms so ramps can be used to board every service. Salford Crescent sits between the University of Salford's Peel Park and Frederick Road campuses, with direct trains to Manchester Piccadilly, Victoria and the airport, and out toward Bolton, Preston and Blackpool.
By road the A6 Chapel Street runs straight into Manchester city centre, and the M602 drops out of Salford onto the M60 at Eccles. Parking is the thing to flag when you book: the Quays and city-end blocks have allocated bays, barriers and fobs, the terraced streets in Weaste and Seedley are mostly unrestricted, and Broughton and Kersal are a mix. We bring kit in marked vans, so tell us about permits, barriers or a concierge at quote time and we'll plan around it.
The Salford rental market we know.
Salford has one of the deeper rental markets in Greater Manchester, and the census numbers below show why. The waterside and city-edge flats let to professionals, to people working around MediaCityUK, and to students from the University of Salford, on short tenancies with fast turnover. The terraces in Weaste, Seedley and Langworthy let to a more price-sensitive pool, often people comparing Salford against Eccles and Stretford. Broughton and Kersal hold longer family tenancies in bigger houses, many of them divided into flats.
Landlord types follow the same split. The apartment blocks are run by property management companies with a formal checkout procedure and a relet clock ticking from the day you hand keys back. The terraces and the period conversions are mostly individual buy-to-let landlords, sometimes with an agent, sometimes doing the walk-through themselves.
The high street is well covered. Reeds Rains works the area from 167 Langworthy Road and lists M5, M6 and M7 as its patch, and Peter Anthony covers Salford and Eccles from Eccles Old Road. Alongside them sit the Quays-focused and online agents, and the block managers who never appear on a high street at all. Both of those agents work the western end of the borough around Eccles and Monton as well, which is the same market a few miles out. That range means checkout standards run from a photographic property-management report to an informal landlord walk-round.
What that means for the clean: it has to flex to the property. A Quays flat needs the modern-apartment checklist, a Weaste terrace needs the cooker and the yard handled properly, a Kersal conversion needs care around original features. We quote each one properly and clean to the standard the person signing it off will actually check, so the property is ready to relet and your deposit comes back.

How long does an end of tenancy clean take?

About Salford
Move-out cleaning across Salford.
Salford is a city in its own right, sitting immediately west of Manchester across the River Irwell. The part we cover runs from the apartment towers along Chapel Street and Greengate, out through Ordsall to the waterside blocks at Salford Quays and MediaCityUK, across the Victorian terraces of Weaste, Seedley and Langworthy, and up to the larger period houses of Broughton and Kersal. Salford is a big borough and this page covers its M3 to M7 core; Eccles, Monton and Patricroft are Salford too, and they have their own page. Whether you're leaving a one bed at the Quays, a terrace off Langworthy Road or a Victorian semi in Kersal, we provide thorough end of tenancy cleaning to help you get your deposit back.
We've cleaned rental properties right across Salford, from high floor apartments at the Quays and MediaCityUK to the rebuilt terraces around Chimney Pot Park and the period houses on the wide roads in Kersal. We have been cleaning in the borough since Eccles went on the site, so the M30 end of Salford is familiar ground too. We know what block managers and local letting agents expect at checkout and clean to the standard that gets a property signed off without a flag.
The rental numbers here are real: Census 2021 counts 41,084 households across the 7 wards covering central Salford, and 17,943 of them (43.7%) are privately rented, compared with 26.8% across the City of Salford as a whole. Every one of those tenancies ends in a checkout inspection sooner or later.
